Quai 54 • 20th Anniversary
Agency: 360 Creative
Client: Quai 54
Partner: Jordan Brand
To celebrate two decades of Quai 54, I architected a visual system that bridges European modernism with Pan-African symbolism. Building on the “African Bauhaus” narrative established for the 2019 edition, the 20th anniversary identity utilizes the Roman numeral XX as a geometric foundation. By deconstructing the numeral into four primary triangles and applying a Pan-African palette, the system honors both the tournament’s legacy and the heritage of its global community.

“This identity delivers on the basketball meets hip-hop culture premise of the tournament in an energetic, exciting, and unique way.”
The identity received international acclaim and was featured on Brand New. Critic Armin Vit highlighted the project’s ability to deliver on the “basketball meets hip-hop culture” premise, validating the technical rigor and cultural relevance of the XX concept.
Jordan x Quai 54: the anniversary collection
For the 20th Anniversary, the collaboration with Jordan Brand focused on translating the “geometric heritage” of the Pan-African XX system into a premium capsule collection. I developed a bespoke anniversary lockup and repeating pattern that dictated the visual language of the Air Jordan I and Air Jordan II. These assets were utilized by the Jordan design team across footwear, apparel, and commemorative packaging for a global retail launch.

Event design: architectural scale at Roland-Garros
Transforming Europe’s most famous tennis stadium into a streetball arena required a rigorous application of the XX geometric system. A major technical feat of this edition was the 2023 court design: a full-scale hardwood court, hand-painted off-site and engineered to be reassembled on a custom pillar system directly above the legendary Roland-Garros clay. This ensured a high-performance playing surface while maintaining the structural integrity of the historic venue.
