Quai 54 • 2024 Street basketball tournament

A back-to-basics identity

For the 21st edition of Quai 54, I developed a “back to basicsvisual system centered on typographic rigor and a bespoke, symmetrical iconography. Each icon - representing the Eiffel Tower, the world, the game etc. - utilizes a mirrored, high-contrast logic (black-on-white/white-on-black). This duality provided a versatile graphic language that functioned as both a functional labeling system for digital assets and a sophisticated pattern for physical production.

Jordan x Quai 54 collaboration: premium materiality & woven graphics

The minimalist brief pushed the collaboration with Jordan Brand toward a focus on premium materiality. By combining the Paris and Basketball icons into an all-over checker pattern, utilized for a custom woven jacquard fabric, player uniforms, and bespoke footwear packaging. The application of elevated techniques - including spot UV varnishing and intricate textile weaving - ensured that the 2024 minimalist story maintained a high-end feel.

Arena design: indoor versatility

With Paris’ outdoor spaces reserved for the 2024 Olympics, the tournament transitioned indoors to the Stade Pierre de Coubertin. To account for the unpredictable lighting of a new venue, I engineered a monochrome visual identity designed for maximum contrast. This “lighting-agnostic” approach ensured that the brand narrative remained sharp and legible across high-speed sports photography, broadcast, and 360° arena graphics.
