Invitation au Voyage
Broadcast design package
Agency: 360 Creative
Client: Elephant Doc
Music: Air
Broadcaster: ARTE
Invitation au Voyage is the daily cultural flagship for ARTE, the bi-national French-German TV broadcaster. I engineered the program’s visual identity using a surrealist “information cube” as the core vehicule. I built the 3D-mapped cube in After Effects using 4K time-lapse cloudscapes, creating a timeless, elevated atmosphere that reflects the show’s cultural openness.
French Touch synergy
The identity is synchronized to the French Touch soundscape of Air. Having initially pitched the concept using the band’s iconic track “Playground Love”, the final execution utilized “Kelly Watch the Stars”, creating a sophisticated audio-visual synergy. This cultural alignment ensures the show remains a benchmark for elegant, minimalist broadcast design.
Systemic architecture:
bilingual framework & production infrastructure
As the lead for both the 2017 launch and the 2022 evolution of Invitation au Voyage, I engineered a visual system capable of sustaining a daily, high-volume broadcast schedule on ARTE.
The primary challenge was the bilingual information architecture: I developed typographic style guide designed to accommodate the simultaneous or consecutive display of French and German text. This system balances disparate linguistic rhythms and word lengths - ensuring absolute legibility and visual hierarchy without compromising the program’s premium aesthetic.
To bridge strategy and execution, I delivered a modular motion kit - a suite of pre-rendered assets with alpha channels optimized for Avid post-production workflows. This technical infrastructure allows the editorial team to maintain a sophisticated brand voice across hundreds of annual episodes, proving that rigorous design can successfully drive complex, real-time industrial production.
